Nick Parker

Thursday 28th March 2024

Although singer songwriter Nick Parker has been gigging regularly since he went solo 14 years ago he’s never *actually* strung together anything resembling a tour in the UK. With that in mind, and on the back of releasing his fourth studio album Ow Dennie Rayne and the Jistal Parts - Nick is hitting the road in March 2024. Some will be full band gigs. Some will be duo gigs and some will be solo gigs. The vast majority will feature other especially selected acts.

His songs are often tongue-in-cheek and cheerful, and on the rare occasion when fun IS poked (usually at himself) it is always with a wry smile and an element of satire. The audience are often encouraged to be a part of the show, from holding up lyrics or creating sound effects, to providing basslines or collectively being Nick’s duet partner. Although the songs are for the most part light-hearted, Nick isn’t afraid to take a little time-out from the levity to touch on some of the less jovial aspects of life. Having spent the last couple of years providing tour support for acts such as Levellers, Skinny Lister and Ginger Wildheart, Nick recently had the honour of opening up one of the shows on Tom Robinson’s Up Close and Personal Tour, chosen by the man himself.

Opening on the night will be local lad George Gadd - SHABBA!
